Celebrating Innovation: NZ Ice Cream & Gelato Awards 2025 Trophy Winners

The NZ Ice Cream & Gelato Awards 2025 have once again shone a spotlight on New Zealand’s world-class ice cream and gelato makers. From traditional favourites to bold new flavour combinations, this year’s Trophy winners represent the very best in creativity, quality, and passion from our local industry.
A Showcase of Flavour & Craftsmanship
Licorice, Chocolate, Cucumber & Yuzu, Spiced Biscuit and Green Tea were among the stand-out flavours taking home trophies this year. Hot on the heels of awarding a record 68 gold medals, the judges named 18 Trophy winners at the awards ceremony in Auckland on the 28th of August, recognising New Zealand’s top ice creams, gelatos, and sorbets of 2025.
Chief Judge Geoff Scott praised the entrants, noting:
“Overall, the standard of entries has never been higher. The flavours were great, and texture was excellent across all categories. It’s clear that creativity and innovation are alive and well in the New Zealand ice cream and gelato industry.”
The Supreme Champions
Among the many winners, two creations rose to the very top:
- Takapuna Beach Café’s Licorice Gelato – crowned Chelsea Sugar Supreme Boutique Champion.
- Much Moore’s Wonders Strawberry Low Fat Yoghurt Ice Cream – awarded the prestigious Hall’s Cold Chain Logistics Supreme Champion.
These accolades recognise not only flavour innovation but also excellence in quality, texture, and overall eating experience.
