Case Studies
Some our favourite custom packaging projectsCommonly asked questions
Yes, our custom made food packaging is made with polypropylene (PP), polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or Recycled PET (RPET) depending on the suitability to the contents and your requirements. All these options are recyclable and you can read more about these materials, including their recyclability codes here. Read about our approach to sustainability.
The applications that customised packaging is suitable for depends on how it has been constructed to your requirements. For example, if your food needs to be stored in the freezer, then the appropriate freezer grade PP packaging would be created for you. Typically Bonson containers are only suitable for use in the microwave, however if you need it to be oven-safe, then we can work with you to ensure the right packaging material is used to make that possible.
Absolutely. Effective labelling on food packaging is one of the best ways to give it shelf appeal and help your customers buy more of your products. In-mould labelling (IML) is a popular process for creating impactful labels that are directly fused into the container and most of our tailor made food packaging customers choose IML.
The important thing to know is we deal with not only large food manufacturers with high volume requirements, but also smaller food businesses who are needing food packaging for their artisan or niche food businesses. We can also cater to
businesses who need non-food packaging. The point at which it is commercially viable for customers to have their packaging customised is considerably varied and there are a lot of factors involved in what the minimum order quantity is (MOQ) is – we would much rather have a conversation with you than have you assume that the volume requirements for your packaging are too small. We are here to help, even if that means exploring if there is an off-the-shelf solution or putting you in touch with another supplier, so please get in touch.
Popular colours include clear/transparent or white packaging with different levels of opaque, however we can also create coloured packaging, with black being one of the most commonly requested coloured food packaging options.
