Bonson’s Approach to Sustainability
Towards a circular economy
Bonson believes that the ultimate environmental solution is a circular economy – one where the absolute LAST option for waste disposal is landfill.
There is no one-size-fits-all solution in sustainable packaging. Our goal is to support customers in achieving their own sustainability commitments by giving them choices. This involves Bonson being totally transparent and making information that will help with decision making readily available. We are here to help guide you through what can often be a confusing world of acronyms, codes and greenwashing.
How do we move from a linear to circular economy?
Traditionally dealing with waste has followed the one-way path known as the ‘linear economy’.
Bonson is committed to helping everyone move from this linear model to a circular model (as pictured) whereby the emphasis is on reduction, reuse and recycling for a better future.
Take a look at the waste hierarchy below and look out for icons on this website that will guide you through your sustainability choices.
Framework for a better future
When it comes time to say goodbye to waste, there is a clear sequence in the preference of how it is dealt with. It is called the waste hierarchy.
The adjacent image shows the internationally accepted priority of how materials are disposed of at the end of their life. Moving from the most favourable option at the top, to the least favourable at the bottom.
Bonson offers products that can be reused, recovered and recycled. This means that some of our products can be used for multiple purposes, multiple times; all products offer some level of recyclability; and some products are compostable.
At Bonson Industrial Co. Ltd., we are constantly looking at how our manufacturing practices and our supply chain can minimise the impact that our products and business operations have on the environment.
