Bonson Packaging has strengthened its presence in the Australian market through the recent joint purchase, with Craig & Trisca Price, of Northland Distributors, an established Adelaide-based supplier to South Australia’s takeaway and hospitality industries.
The purchase represents an important milestone in Bonson’s continued growth in Australia, establishing an immediate presence in South Australia through an experienced local team, established warehousing and logistics operation, and a loyal and diverse customer base.
Northland Distributors provides packaging solutions throughout metropolitan Adelaide, with daily deliveries across the metropolitan area and freight services to local depots supporting customers throughout regional South Australia.
Building on a Strong Local Business
Rather than changing what has made Northland successful, Bonson’s focus will be on supporting the existing business, its people and its customer relationships.
Northland will continue to operate under the Northland Distributors name and will be led locally by Craig Price as General Manager, alongside Trisca Price as Business Manager.
Craig brings more than 25 years of experience in the South Australian packaging industry, while Trisca brings more than 30 years of experience across business management and finance.
Bonson CEO David Tsui said the strength of Northland’s reputation and customer relationships was a key factor in the decision to invest in the business.
“What attracted us to Northland was the strength of its customer relationships and its reputation for personal, reliable service,” said David.
“This is a well-established local business with an experienced team and customers who value the service they receive. We want to build on those strengths, not replace them.”
Two Family Businesses with Shared Values
Established by the Tsui family in Auckland, New Zealand, in 1984, Bonson remains a family-owned and operated packaging business more than four decades later.
Today, Bonson operates across New Zealand and Australia, supplying food packaging solutions to customers ranging from independent foodservice operators through to distributors, food manufacturers, retailers and major FMCG brands.
David said the alignment between the two businesses was particularly important to Bonson.
